"A Fresh Take" by Eugene Marlow's Heritage Ensemble

Eugene Marlow's Heritage Ensemble releases another superb instrumental Jazz CD, "A Fresh Take." Marlow, who is a composer, arranger, and pianist, has written over 200 classical and jazz compositions and his talents are endless. He also has a cast of highly talented musicians who come from a diversity of cultures and merge together to perform magnetic Jazz songs relating to the Hebrews language and culture. You will be hooked when you hear the first track, "Hatikva," as it has a sensational groove and this quintet takes this melody to thought provoking heights. "Bilbililos," is a song featuring a stunning piano melody cascading around the rhythmic bass riff. The track, "Adon Olam," features a lovely female voice that sweetly swirls around the percussive beats. The last song, "Avinu Malkeinu," has a powerful punch with its vivacious and endearing melody that makes you want to hear more from this talented ensemble. If you like exquisite instrumental Jazz music that incorporates the Hebraic culture, then the magnificent album, "A Fresh Take," is one you will thoroughly enjoy.

"One Long Skid vol.1" by Jon Clark

Singer/songwriter Jon Clark spins some well crafted Folk/Rock music on his latest CD, "One Long Skid-Vol 1." As a songwriter, Clark weaves some interesting lyrics about the trials and tribulations of life while his laid back vocals complement these insightful songs. There is a terrific versatility of instruments as you will hear not only guitar, drums, organ, and bass, but there are a couple of songs with banjo and harmonica. "On Song" by AJ Brown (Jazz Artist from England)

You will like his stylish renditions of the classic songs, "The Long & Winding Road" and "More" as Brown's dynamic voice bursts with passion and soul. The last track on the album is a great classic song, "The Way You Make Me Feel," as Brown spins this irresistible song into a stunning Jazz beat. Fans of Michael Bublé will truly appreciate the superb, well crafted Jazz/Pop songs on the fantastic album, "On Song."
