"The Wind Gave Me This Story" by Miho Saigo (World Artist from Japan)

Miho Saigo's debut CD, "The Wind Gave Me This Story," is a captivating work of Eastern tones and contemporary melodies, expressed in the rich vernacular of a Mongolian 2-stringed instrument called a morin khuur. Similar in sound and size to a cello (although slightly smaller with a more box-like body), the morin khuur produces a varied sound, much dependent on the performer's unique artistry, which, in Saigo's case, is considerable. Accompanied mainly by spare and nuanced piano, the 7 instrumental pieces on "The Wind Gave Me This Story" evoke the wild plains of Mongolia with deep and inspired reverie. A plaintive melody infuses CD-opener, "A Song of Wind and Sky," a song of wonderment for nature's bounty, while Saigo effectively plays with rhythm on the visually evocative, "A White Horse in Suho." While the beautiful "The Kite" is less buoyant than one might infer, its pastoral melody is like a kite's tail gliding across an open sky with infinite grace. Equal parts Asian World music and New Age soundscapes, Miho Saigo's "The Wind Gave Me This Story" CD is an engaging and spiritual album for listeners with imagination as profound as wind.

"Alone But Not Alone" by Doug Munro (Spiritual Artist from New York(NY))

Doug Munro's debut solo album "Alone But Not Alone" is a wonderful collection of live instrumental studio recordings in which each song is inspired by spiritual passages from the Bible and other sources. In "Worship" we hear Munro's skills upon the acoustic guitar in a down tempo song that is calming and introspective. "The Journey" is a song in which a cool and interesting percussive lead is followed by both bluesy and funky guitar playing, in a fun-loving and celebratory musical number. The spiritual classic, "Amazing Grace," Munro incorporates some cool subtle psychedelic sounds in the background as he plays an emotive version of the song on his guitar. This is an album that might best be described as contemporary instrumental/inspirational music. It's heartfelt and you can hear how much the musician values his spirituality. If you enjoy calm and uplifting tunes or music that is intended with thoughtful reflective insight, then Doug Munro's "Alone But Not Alone" is well worth listening to.

"Patiently" by Jason Dolan (Folk Artist from San Francisco, California(CA))

The entertaining debut CD released from talented artist Jason Dolan is titled "Patiently." In it Dolan has created a collection of Folk/Rock songs that vary from mellow and reserved to excited and rock-like that all follow his vocals first, and then his guitar. The opener, "Cassie" is a spirited song in which Dolan is accompanied by drums as he, at times comically, laments over a failed relationship. "Shades of Grey" is a song in which he sings and talks quickly, yet plays his guitar slowly and soulfully, to create a juxtaposed folk song that is quite entertaining for the ears. "Isabel" is a more traditional folk song, with just Dolan and his guitar, as he shows off his deft vocal talents in a song with emotive lyrics. It is probably Dolan's background as humorous poet that is the reason why his brand of Folk/Rock orbits closely around his voice and words more-so than the average musician, yet this is what gives the album is undeniable uniqueness. If you enjoy vivaciously written folk music or would like to hear what an accomplished poet with a guitar might sound like, then listen to "Patiently" by Jason Dolan as you will find this album filled with new and refreshing compilations.
