"Songs for your Busy Day" by Music by Mommies (Kids Artist from New York(NY))

Music by Mommies and their motivating children/family album, "Songs for your Busy Day" will have your kids energized in no time to do their daily routines. This CD was written and produced by talented musicians/moms Michele Purcell and Barbara Fine Buxbaum who know just how hard it can be to encourage children to keep an everyday schedule. Together, they have written lyrics and melodies of Folk/Pop style so that each song displays a fun, cheerful, and positive message while learning at the same time. Right from the start, the first song, "Get Up" wakes up the sleepy child from bed as the sound of an alarm rings so he can get ready for school. The march like drum beat of "We're Going" will have the kids moving out the door in a timelier and faster manner and reminding them to not forget to put on their shoes and bring a coat. Ending the album, the song "Sleep," is a sweet and tender tune that will let your child settle down and unwind from the busy day. "Songs for your Busy Day" is a fun and interactive album of educational learning that all children/families will love to listen to.

"You're Country Now" by Jessica Shepherd Band (Country Artist from Austin, Texas(TX))

"You're Country Now" is a terrific album from the talented Jessica Shepherd Band. It is an album filled with classic honky-tonk and good old Country music songs with an emphasis on twangy vocals, western guitar sounds, and the fiddle. In the song, "Humpty Dumpty," Jessica sings a pleasant and leisurely fun Country song about the classic children's tale of Humpty Dumpty's infamous situation on his wall, featuring great fiddle and guitar solos. Another song, "Soldiers of Love," we get a more earnest and edgy song that tells a story through a Country/Blues backbone beat and evocative lyrics. The track, "Five Year Fling," has a smooth and flowing beat, strong and emotive vocals, and a charming Honky Tonk piano solo giving this catchy tune it's delightful and attractive appeal. This album is for all Country music fans that enjoy a fresh and innovating classical approach to the genre and features a talented female vocalist. If that sounds like music you would appreciate then you will want to listen to the Jessica Shepherd Band's latest album "You're Country Now."

"The Sailor's Daughter" by Chris Holiman (Folk Artist from Arizona(AZ))

Chris Holiman's most recent album is "The Sailor's Daughter." It is an album that centers on Holiman's acoustic guitar and vocals and is recorded in what would be considered an Alternative Country or Folk/Pop style. The first track, "Ride Through Sky," is a graceful song in which Chris and his guitar are accompanied by a smooth and serene cello in a song that easily flows with its melodic lyrics. In "Running This World" things get a little quicker paced, as Chris shows us his edgier side in a song that partners with a more upfront percussive section and the added flavor of the exceptional tones of the Hammond B-3 organ. In the title track, "The Sailor's Daughter," we find a more Country like song as an expressive steel guitar gently wails throughout the piece. If you are a fan of acoustic-led, mellifluous music with a Folk/Country leaning then this album might be for you. Fans of Wilco or Richard Buckley would do themselves good to take a listen to Chris Holiman's latest album "The Sailor's Daughter."

"You're All Wrong-EP" by HolliePollock (Classic Rock Artist from Salem, Oregon(OR))

"You're All Wrong-EP" by HolliePollock has a cool alternative sound to it while also having the Classic Rock feel of Zepplin to it as well. The vocals are just as gritty as the instrumentation and lyrics which gives this album an abundance of intensity. The title track, "You're All Wrong" with its dynamic drums and talented bass emulates both lyrically and musically an expression of loneliness that's identifiable with everyone. "13th Sun" is another talent-dense track on the EP with strong and solid guitar work that embellishes the lyrical vocal. The music is on the forefront while the vocals linger behind in an almost spooky, but interesting way. This CD contains 5 tracks of intense Classic Rock music spanning this bands performance of outstanding musical capability. If any kind of Rock music is your preference, then this EP is definitely well worth hearing.

"Can't Hardly Wait" by Ken L (Rap Artist from California(CA))

Ken L's latest EP is "Can't Hardly Wait." It's a solid collection of hard-hitting rap songs culled from a variety of urban music influences. The title track "Can't Hardly Wait" is a more fun-loving hip hop song with Ken L rapping about his own life. "Go Girl!!!" has more of a serious beat to it, utilizing a punchy drum line and brass section highlights - and reminiscent of a New York style rap song. "Whut U Wanna Do???" features the rapper rhyming over a more club-friendly, energetic beat. Ken L's "Can't Hardly Wait" EP is a showcase for his evocative lyrics against a backdrop of varied and spirited hip hop rhythms. If you appreciate bold and brisk styled rhyming and beats, then "Can't Hardly Wait" is an EP you should check out. WARNING-CONTAINS EXPLICIT LANGUAGE

"Firefly" by Indus (World Artist from the United Kingdom)

"Recorded live in studio, Indus' debut CD "Firefly" is an exhilarating mix of Eastern melodies and instrumentation performed with a jazz ensemble-like flair for spontaneity, improvisation and - not least, playfulness. Incorporating sitar, santoor (a 100-stringed instrument played with wooden mallets), Western flute and tabla, the 4-piece band stretches the boundaries of their Hindustani-inspired music in a musical exploration that's both rich in tradition as well as brilliantly modern. On CD-opener, "Mind the Gap," Indus' playfulness is in full evidence; a rhythmically complex piece that challenges each musician to stay true to the beat, it is an 11-minute workout of pure inspiration. "A Night at the Court" utilizes improvisational scat-like singing (called "bols," the language of tabla) over a regal melody reminiscent of classical Persian extemporization. In fact, the album's opus, "Esfahan," draws the neighboring cultures of India, Pakistan and Iran into sharp relief over the course of a wildly provocative 19-minute jam that gives each player more than ample space to improvise and experiment with melody, rhythm, tone and harmony. Equally challenging and rewarding, the evocative "Firefly" CD by Indus is perfect for fans of Indian music, or for listeners of similarly modern World Music visionaries (e.g., John McLaughlin's Shakti or Anouar Brahem).

"Boogie Woogie Woman" by Ann Stockdale (Blues Artist from Seattle, Washington(WA))

With the instincts and wiles of a seasoned pro, Ann Stockdale hits all the right notes throughout a diverse mix of Americana music styles on the blues and jazz vocalist's latest CD, "Boogie Woogie Woman." Following the path that brought musically like-minded Norah Jones to stardom, Stockdale leaves no stone unturned over the course of a 10-song album that deftly shifts between piano ballads ("Here Comes My Baby"), jazz-inflected boogie tunes ("Boogie Woogie Woman"), Sonny Terry-ish country blues ("Understanding Heart"), blues-rock ("After Memphis"), traditional country ("Hank Williams"), and even zydeco blues ("Movin' On"), expertly guiding a band that knows these particular backroads of roots music as instinctually as their leader. What ultimately makes the terrific "Boogie Woogie Woman" CD shine, though, is Stockdale's finely-aged voice, an instrument tailor-made for her heartfelt explorations into America's rich musical traditions.

"I'm On My Way" by Earl Dwayne (R&B Artist from New Jersey(NJ))

"I'm On My Way" is the latest album released by the talented vocalist Earl Dwayne. It is an album that features Dwayne in a variety of slick and crisp sounding Urban R&B/Soul tracks. The track, "Never Say Never" Dwayne shows off his vocal abilities in an emotionally charged slow jam. On the title track, "I'm On My Way" Dwayne keeps the tempo to a slower pace, but it's a song delivered in a more relaxed and jubilant manner while the lyrics are tender and sincere The song, "Persuasion" lets things quicken a little bit in a lively and jumpy number with a beat reminiscent of the mid 90's west-coast sound. This album is perfect for those who enjoy Contemporary R&B/Soul with a focus on a strong male vocalist. Fans of Luther Vandros or Baby Face should definitely be open to listening to "I'm On My Way" by Earl Dwayne.

"Wishful Thinking" by Orla Murphy (Jazz Artist from London, England)

Orla Murphy's debut Jazz album goes by the name of "Wishful Thinking." This is an album that features Murphy's creamy smooth voice with mostly 3 piece accompaniments, playing a collection of mellow Jazz standards as well as Jazz-interpretations of well known songs. In the song, "Fragile" Murphy sings alongside an acoustic guitar in a relaxed and simple, yet deep and emotional sentiment. In "The Old Country" her voice interplays solely with the upright bass and drums in a smooth yet peppy Jazz number. In the track, "Be Cool" Murphy sings with a remarkable cadence in a playful and toe-tapping piece. This album is one that features classic Jazz and a highly talented voice and lets the talents of the musicians flow with style and grace. If you are a fan of simple and velvety Jazz, or maybe just want something mellow and comforting to listen to around the fireplace, then you should hear the album "Wishful Thinking" by Orla Murphy.

"Other People's Stories" by Teira Doom (R&B Artist from Los Angeles, California(CA))

"Other People's Stories" by the talented artist Teira Doom is simply some silky smooth R&B/Soul. She uses heavy R&B influences in her vocal styles as well as with her instrumentation. Doom also displays her creativity as she implements a chorus of voices that alternates with the bright and crisp piano chords in the stirring song "Break Me Off." The track "Finding Home," is a slow, heartfelt track, which gives Doom a chance to really show off her vocals prowess with stunning vocal range and tonality. "Other People's Stories" is a great album for any fan of R&B/Soul, urban grooves, or strong female vocals and is well worth listening to.

"All Night Blue" by Paul Tobin (R&B Artist from Saskatchewan, Canada)

"All Night Blue" by Paul Tobin is a well-mixed, great sounding, and edgy Urban Folk/Soul album. Tobin claims to be a fan of Johnny Cash and it shows, not in his style but in his voice and wandering soul. He does cover the classic "Walk the Line" but the slower, acoustic track has such a different tone and a great harmony that Tobin made it a song all his own. He even tries out some old roots Blues on the track "How Come" and grabs the listener with his strong soulful voice. Another notable track is the story-telling tune "Time Flies" as Tobin shows off his melodic vocals with heartfelt tenderness. "All Night Blue" is a well-crafted Urban Folk/Soul album with just enough edge to please fans of Bruce Cockburn and Johnny Cash and is well worth hearing.

"Batida Diferente" by Norberto Goldberg (Latin/Jazz Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

"Batida Diferente" is an extremely well made Brazilian/Latin Jazz album by drummer Norberto Goldberg and his fellow talented musicians. Some of the best tracks on this album are in fact original compositions. For instance, the fast-paced and fun "Baiao" is well crafted with moving drum beats that compliment the melodic melody of the guitar and sax. The title track "Batida Diferente" pulls off some expert tempo changes with ease, showing off the talent of all the players. The album, "Batida Diferente," isn't just for fans of Latin Jazz or dance clubs; it's for all listeners who can appreciate outstanding music played with expert musicianship.

"Del Castillo" by Del Castillo (Latin Artist from Texas(TX))

The Latin Rock fusion band Del Castillo and their self-titled album is a thorough blend of styles from all around Latin America and Spain coupled with sultry, romantic, and even tragic lyrics. All thirteen tracks will pull the listener into dramatic sounds of flamenco guitars and the lively beats of conga and bongo drums. "Boricua del Cielo" is a flamenco salsa crossover that opens the CD giving a perfect introduction to the style of this band. The song speaks of an enchanting woman who seems to have 'magic' in the way that she dances. The harmony in this track brings a lot of life to the lyrics and it's near impossible to not dance or at least want to when listening. "Anybody Wanna" is a Spanglish cumbia-rock combo that has an easy going sound throughout the track, but invites the listener to dance at the same time. A standard drum set is prominent in this track and the lead singer's strong vocal range is fully showcased. Where the Gypsy Kings and Los Lonely Boys met is where Del Castillo was created. This is a CD that can and will be enjoyed by aficionados of multiple musical tastes.

"Balumba Tombo revolution" by Various Artists (Pop Artist from Italy)

New from Italy's Pedale Baroque, "Balumba Tombo revolution" is another eclectic compilation of Pop and World Music artists and songs reflecting the wide-open scope of the unique project that produced '07's "Balumba Tombo reloaded." From the psych-inspired "Sea Child" by Danger, to the East-meets-West hybrid sound of Gandhi Goes to Bollywood's "Welcome to Legoland," the diversity of the 10 tracks blend perfectly to create a borderless pastiche of pure musicality. "Requiematic" by Maestro Poldo Catara dabbles in classical nuances, while CD-opener, "Distraction physique" by Bohemian Flambe, is straight-ahead rock with a decided French influence. Elsewhere, Frograssa's weird and unsettling "Frogs in frocks" and the ultra-'80's feel of Leonid Sdjalayev' "Eto niemoi film?" push the boundaries without sounding uncharacteristic or out of place. A CD for the musically adventurous, the "Balumba Tombo revolution" compilation is a provocative mix of styles and influences that will leave you wanting more from the compelling and innovative Pedale Baroque collective.

"African Moments" by Kowa (World Artist from Germany)

This album is a re-mastered version of the 1996 release "African Moments" by Kowa, and includes 3 brand new tracks. The collection of songs, most in a relaxed style, is inspired by the culture and nature of sub-Saharan Africa. "Asumebele" starts off like any mellow, adult-contemporary song but soon evolves into something more as a chorus of male African singers joins the melody. "Africa" is an interesting and esoteric song which features African instruments used in a quasi-psychedelic manner. "Zulu Dance" is a mid-tempo number with interesting interplay between a steady beat and a flittering African-style flute. Throughout, though, intricate and accomplished guitar work and inspired vocals reveal the range and depths of this multi-talented group. This album is perfect for those who enjoy a good Easy Listening / World Music experience, particularly a melodic and reverent variant from Africa.

"Me and Mrs. Jones" by Tony Ocean (Easy Listening Artist from Illinois(IL))

Tony Ocean doles out skill and passion with his new CD, "Me and Mrs. Jones." While his cover of the Billy Paul classic is well done and worthy of being a title track, the Robbie Robertson-penned "Out of the Blue" provides Ocean with the perfect canvas for the kind of deep and soulful delivery the song demands. This album stays nothing but smooth throughout, but still holds some edge and emotion with Ocean's strong vocals. "Someone Like You" has all the elements this album is about: passion, beautiful piano, and catchy melodies. Another gem is the last track, "Be Honest," a duet with a female singer. Tony Ocean's fine CD, "Me and Mrs. Jones," is easy listening anyone can enjoy.

"Another Point of View" by Chris Nole (Blues Artist from The United States(

"Another Point of View" is the latest CD from Chris Nole. It is an album that features piano songs that spring from the blues and jazz but come out in a funky and contemporary style. In the opener, "Carless Love", Chris expounds upon love in a toe-tapping, yet mellow, bluesy song which features some great expressions on the keys. On "When the Saints Go Marching In," Nole offers up a fresh approach to a classic tune in a fun, creole-jazz manner. "When You Go" might be the best song as Chris croons alongside his synthesizer and strings in a pleasant low tempo. This album is really a gifted piano player taking jazz and blues foundations and building upon them in a groovy, almost pop-like fashion. Whether you enjoy Randy Newman or the piano-based songs of Billy Joel, Chris Nole's CD, "Another Point of View," is something that could be just right for you.

"I am no loger of this world" by Don Krim (Classical Artist from The United States)

Don Krim's classical operatic album is titled "I am no longer of this world." This is the countertenor's debut album, featuring Suzanne Bradbury on the piano, in which he sings Gustav Mahler's "Ruckert Lieder" and Peter Lieberson's "Rilke Songs." Krim's voice is breathtaking and while it may remind one of a mature choir-boy or a mezzo-soprano, it actually is neither and superior at the same time. "Atmen, du unsichtbares, Gedicht!" is a song in which we can hear how his voice can lie in such a high register, yet also resonate deeply, in this song that embodies both dark and bright themes simultaneously. In "Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen" one can really hear the beauty within Suzanna Bradbury's finesse upon the piano and it interplays with Don's soaring voice. This is an album that any fan of classical vocal composition would enjoy. If you already enjoy the likes of Lorraine Hunt Lieberson then "I am no longer of this world" is an album you will want to hear immediately.

"As It Should Be" by A Beautiful Curse (Electronic Artist from Texas(TX))

A Beautiful Curse's latest album is "As It Should Be." This album, for the most part, contains lower tempo Electronic music; which at times is quite psychedelic and is aimed at almost being "positive dream music" for the listener. The opener, "On the Other Side," starts off with beautiful female vocals over an almost gritty and menacing background rumble before a trip-hop like beat comes in to take over the song. "A Mind of Its Own" is a more fantasy-like song in which a steady beat is held down with ambient sounds and vocals fading in and out from all directions. The song, "This Is My House," is an all out Electronica track with a dancing and pulsating beat that will make you want to stand up and groove. This album is an amalgam of contemporary psychedelic styles which all come from a place of positive inspiration. If you appreciate slightly hallucinatory electronic sounds, or like any type of dream-like music, then you might agree this album is exactly "As It Should Be."

"12 Meditations On Love" by Jeri Hilderley (Folk Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

Jeri Hilderley's newest release is "12 Meditations On Love." This album is a collection of avant-garde songs that revolve around Jeri's almost operatic voice; which are meant as a celebration of nature's gifts, love, and the positive sides of life in general. "Blue Hydrangea" is a song in which Jeri sings energetically over mellow guitar picking, in a song inspired by the beauty of a flower. "Gay Beach in P-Town" is more of a playful song, in which a duet of voices sings carefully over xylophone playing in remembrance of good times at a gay beach. "Company of Two" is a song in which Jeri sings over a guitar and occasional cello in a song inspired by the possibilities of love between two people. This album is one that is made in dedication of the wonderful and mysterious quagmire that is love. If you enjoy calm, operatic singing, and love-inspired music then "12 Meditations On Love" is an album you would enjoy hearing.

"Tesla's Christmas" by Richard Souther (Holiday Artist from New York(NY))

Richard Souther's latest holiday album is called "Tesla's Christmas." It is, quite simply, an album which fuses modern electronic sounds with those of antiquated instruments to recreate Christmas carols. For "Go Tell It on the Mountain" a computerized sounding drum beat is combined with synthesizer and hand bells to create a beautiful yet different rendition of this well known holiday number. "Coventry Carol" is a carol that sounds like it was created by Radiohead, as it is a synthesized and somewhat trippy track, yet still retains the true feel of a holiday song. "O Tannenbaum" is beautifully replicated using ethereal background sounds with what sounds like pleasant wooden-xylophone playing. This album is perfect for those who appreciate both Christmas carols as well as when people combine and use new musical methods within well known songs. If you are already a fan of music such as that by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra then Richard Souther's "Tesla's Christmas" is undoubtedly an album for you.

"Occupantional Hazard" by Gary M Hall / The Occupants (Folk Rock Artist from Colorado(CO))

Gary M Hall / The Occupants latest album goes by the comical name of "Occupantional Hazard." This is an album of songs that range from Folksy/singer-songwriter to quasi-psychedelic rock, always led by Gary M Hall and his honed guitar playing. "Welcome Black" is one of the more dream-like songs, in which Gary sings slowly and with much reverb over guitar picking in an almost early Pink Floyd like number. For "The Hills of Platonia" we encounter a song that features just the guitar, yet it is a beautifully moving and serene song. "I'd Rather Be Round" is more of a frolicking and playful tune that features mostly silly vocals and quick guitar playing, think Bob Dylan meets Raffy. Gary M Hall is an accomplished guitarist who has played almost four decades and has been involved with many musical genres, and it shows within this album. Check out "Occupantional Hazard" if you think you would enjoy an album of guitar-led and amusing, yet quasi-hallucinatory, Folk/Rock.

"Restoring Balance" by The Bards of Balance (Rock/Acoustic Artists from Connecticut(CT))

The Bards of Balance have a different goal than most artists out there and their music proves to be quite interesting. Their album, "Restoring Balance" is a collection of Folk/Pop music written by the band leader Kirk Sinclair to coincide with his book "Systems out of Balance." The music obviously has a lot to say, seeing as it's taken from the 564 page epic from Sinclair. The feeling of the album is some mix of acoustic Dan Fogelberg music mixed with The Schoolhouse Rock sound. The track "Middle Class Harmony" is a good example of this combination. They try to change their style a bit from song to song as you can hear on, "I'm Working," which has steel drums giving it a tropical island feel. "Restoring Balance" features interesting and entertaining lyrics of economical, political, and cultural inclinations and if you are looking to hear something new and original with a Folk/Pop feel then take a listen.

"When She's Around" by The Dave Rawlinson Band (Country Artist from Seattle, Washington(WA))

The Dave Rawlinson Band put together a relaxed, classic Country album with "When She's Around." Rawlinson's vocals are spot on and definitely hit that country twang without sounding trite. Like Johnny Cash before him, there are fast-paced Country duets with Alexandra Rawlinson. The song, "Big John," sounds like music from an old western soundtrack, accented with haunting whistles. "I Try to Think About Elvis" is an especially powerful track, with electric guitar and both vocalists putting in a strong performance with exceptional harmonies. "When She's Around" is a solid Country album that can easily hold it's own against any mainstream Country performers today.

"Spirit In the Water" by Leni Stern (World Artist from New York(NY))

"Spirit In the Water" by Leni Stern is a World Beat album bringing the Western world the haunting melodies and rhythm driven music of Africa. Leni Stern's voice is haunting and beautiful, and holds her own over the large band playing along with her. 18 different people are credited with being a part of the recording, playing interesting instruments ranging from the shakers to the camala n'goni. She often switches lyrics between English and African dialects as you will hear in the song "Tell Me." Other songs seem to tell old African tales like "House of Thieves." If you're looking for something very different and very musical, you'll do well with the wonderful CD "Spirit In the Water."

"Red Light, Green Light, Go" by Brett Perkins (Pop Artist from Denmark)

"Red Light, Green Light, Go" by Brett Perkins is an inspirational, easy listening Pop album. Each track delivers real instrumental, non-synthesized music with accurately harmonizing vocals. Greatly inspired by the work of The Beatles, "Red Light, Green Light, Go" does an exceptional job of combining the melodies of 60's pop with modern Americana guitars. The track "Figure It Out" has a perky, upbeat tempo and the chorus is probably the catchiest one of the entire album. The instrumentation on the track "I Won't Give Up On Love" matches the artist voice perfectly. Staying in the tenor range with a female vocalist accompanying him, this song is intricate in lyrics and musicianship. The Beatles have inspired many a great artist since the launch of their career and "Red Light, Green Light, Go" by Brett Perkins is a shining example of that.

"Shoot Em Up" by Ramblin Dawgs (Rock Artist from New Jersey(NJ))

Ramblin Dawgs' newest CD goes by the name of "Shoot Em Up." This album is a collection of upbeat, sometimes aggressive, traditional blues-rock songs. In "Cross the Line" we get a frolicking blues song that is at times gritty with electric guitar, and at times groovy with funky synthesizer and bass interplay. For "Thrill is Gone" we hear the Dawgs take on a BB King classic, which they execute well in a dance-friendly rendition which does the original justice. Then in "Steppin Up" we hear a more contemporary blues song sung in a head-bobbin' style sure to make blues fans want to move. The Ramblin Dawgs are for anyone who not only appreciates traditional blues, but also for those who like funk and blues-crossovers. If you are a fan of Muddy Waters or Stevie Ray Vaughn, then the new CD, "Shoot Em Up," is right for you.

"Blaze Away" by Brokenworks (Rock Artist from Oregon(OR))

The most recent album from Brokenworks goes by the name of "Blaze Away." It is an album recorded, to be very vague, in a "Rock" style mentality but that doesn't say much as the songs of the album fall everywhere on the Rock genre spectrum. What unites the music of the album is that is it created as a tuneful affirmation of God's love. "Count It All Joy" is a boisterous and fun Rock song that celebrates the feelings of joy one can feel within their life. "Long Live the King" is a slow moving Rock ballad, with a focus on the piano that is in reverence to the creator of us all. "Sanctuary" is a song that decides to simplify things and focus on the harmony between male and female vocals, with a beautifully played acoustic guitar in the background. This album is perfect for those who enjoy a band who attempts to show many sides of Rock music within one album, as well as those who appreciate Contemporary music that is in celebration of the divine.

"Unbroken" by Patrick DeGennaro (Pop/Rock Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

Patrick DeGennaro's latest album, "Unbroken," is an album recorded in an adult Pop/Rock fashion with songs that take from the Blues, Rock, and Jazz genres. "Standing Up Straight" is a toe-tapping blues song, in which groovy guitars and solid organ chords interact with Patrick's unique vocals. The song, "The Best of Me," is a slow moving ballad in which Patrick shares heartfelt feelings over sweet and soothing piano playing. Another song, "Let Me Be Your Eyes Again," is an adult contemporary song which uses a jittering beat in a song that takes from both the Blues and Jazz. This music works well for those who can appreciate an adult contemporary artist who makes their voice the central instrument around different types of musical styles. People who appreciate Billy Joel's slower songs would do best to check out Patrick DeGennaro's latest release "Unbroken."

"The World According to Dark feat. Lizh" by Timothy Dark (Pop Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

"The World According to Dark feat. Lizh" by Timothy Dark is a unique pop album, merging early 90's sounds with contemporary jams. Many tracks include loops, rapping, and falsetto male vocals, and accompanying vocals from the talented songstress Lizh. "Who Am I" showcases all these aspects of Timothy Dark's repertoire. He even delves into rock and funk styles with the track "Da Unicorn." "The World According to Dark feat. Lizh" is a diverse album that can't be caged into just one genre and is an album well worth listening to.

"The Cosmic Dance" by Burning Truth (World Artist from Oregon(OR))

"The Cosmic Dance" by Burning Truth sounds like part of a full live experience. The music is made dynamic by the use of a number of different exotic instruments and is obviously meant to inspire dance. Many of these instruments (such as the didjeridu, tablas, and cuarto) can be heard on the title track "The Cosmic Dance" and "Journey Back to The Void." Most of the tracks, like "Gypsy Groove," feature haunting vocals from both male and female singers, but some are simply instrumental. While this music is obviously meant for the stage (they often have fire displays in their live show) "The Cosmic Dance" will still be enriching through your home speakers as well.

"The Song Begins..." by Casey Erin Clark (Easy Listening Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

What makes "The Song Begins..." such a great CD of American show tune-inspired music is the realization Casey Erin Clark had as much fun recording it as we do listening to it. With a voice redolent of the Broadway vernacular, it should come as no surprise that she is working in theater in New York, even starring in a few Off-Broadway shows. Some tracks are even showcases of brand new songs from rising composers. On the CD-opener, "Real New Yorker Now," Clark blows you away with her strong, pitch perfect voice. "Murder! He Says" is another vocal highlight, a terrific jazz trio number with bounce and melody. But what's most important is staying passionate and entertaining, and that is really what Casey Erin Clark's "The Song Begins..." CD accomplishes.

"Torched" by Lynne Halliday (Jazz Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

Lynne Halliday blends Jazz and Pop with finesse and ease on her new CD, "Torched." With the polish of a consummate pro, Halliday's voice quivers and seduces, serving the song and her audience with equal regard. Complex rhythms and melodies keep this album of classic "torch" songs interesting from start to finish. "I Wish I Didn't Love You So" has a great jazz club flow, much thanks to some intricate percussion work. Elsewhere, Halliday ably shows off her vocal talents on standards like "You Go to My Head" and "Devil May Care." In all, "Torched" is a great album for recreating the ambience of a jazz club, for hosting a dinner party, or just enjoying a glass of wine at home.

"Q.E.D." by James Kennedy (Jazz Artist from Iowa(IA))

"Q.E.D." is the latest album released by the prolific guitarist and composer, James Kennedy. The musical style on this new CD has been described as "Midwestern Contemporary Music," since it is really an amalgam of jazz, blues, and folk, all led by James' playing on the 6 and 12 string guitar. Yet he also incorporates a good amount of Latin and World music influences, so it is a difficult album to quickly describe. "Down To the River" is a slower, folksy tune that uses the violin and guitar to paint a mental picture of antiquated American river life. Then, in "Raiders of the Silk Road," we have a very different tune, in which ambient noises and exotic sounds are used to create a feeling that's straight out of The Arabian Nights. For "Your Love Spell," James opts to let the guitar do the talking in a smooth and pleasant love song. "Q.E.D." is perfect for those who enjoy instrumental albums that can paint pictures of different places in your mind. It is also a great album for those who enjoy the guitar and violin, as there are many instances of beautifully played interactions between the two instruments.

"Hollywood Flower" by Daniel Guy Martin (Instrumental Artist from Canada)

Award-winning guitarist Daniel Guy Martin returns with "Hollywood Flower," another stellar album of instrumental guitar compositions that simply defy categorization. Part New Age-like spontaneity, part pure jazz improvisation, Martin's explorations result in melodic and accessible tunes that are nevertheless completely satisfying. Album opener, "Beautiful Cold Feet," reflects the composer's New Age influences with a solemn, introspective melody, while title-track, "Hollywood Flower," delves the guitarist's jazz instincts with equal finesse. Elsewhere, "It's Up To You" offers a more sprightly invocation of the guitarist's songcraft, with Martin displaying a dexterity on his acoustic guitar that belies the seeming ease of its performance. An album for fans of New Age music, Daniel Guy Martin's "Hollywood Flower" album is a must-hear for fans of intricate and eclectic instrumental guitar improvisations.
