"Inside" by Curfew (Electronic artist from the United Kingdom)

"Inside" is an ambient, chill-out electronic album from the UK band Curfew. Their world sound makes them a musical cross between The Gotan Project, Massive Attack, and The Prodigy. One could say the electronic sounds lean more towards The Prodigy and the ambient more toward Massive Attack. Curfew is comprised of four vocalists, three female and one male, creating an beautiful vocal sound overall. "Inside" is well-produced and allows maximum listening pleasure by creating a relaxing, mood-setting sound. When pronounced, the lyrics are often fashioned as love songs and display how the songwriter feels "Inside." On "Together We Can (Let Go)," a female vocalist beautifully sings, "If you're too afraid to show your feelings/Too afraid to speak your mind/Don't expect love." Similarly, the title track sings about being helplessly in love: "Why are you so fascinating/I can't help but give you much too much attention/Much too much of everything." "Dear Sleep" closes things out with a departure from female vocals and love songs into an eerie male electronic voice similar to Radiohead's "Fitter Happier." "Inside" is a relaxing, introspective album for anyone looking for a nice mixture of electronic, ambient, and world music.

"Lyrical H20" by Ryzen (Rap/Hip-Hop artist from Colorado (CO))

"Lyrical H2O" is a spiritual west coast hip-hop album from Ryzen, an artist who turned his life around through the discovery of Christ. Ryzen has been around the block a bit and brings you stories from his life intertwined with faith-based positivity. The lyrics and delivery are powerful, and Ryzen has a strong vocal presence and a distinct quality to his voice. The arrangements behind him are intense and hardcore, combining hard beats with elements of techno and thug synths, and committed to providing you with an original and creative listening experience. The production value is notable on the album as well, so the thumping beats and clean vocals sound great. Highlights include "Random Acts of Rhyme," which has a big beat, a haunting arrangement, a flowing rhyme, and noteworthy backing vocals. "Fist In The Air" has a great hook and features another great vocal performance. "My Life's Prayer" slows things down a bit with a nice organ progression and highly inspirational lyrics. "Realizing the Dream" by Bryan Austin (Spiritual artist from Missouri (MO))

Bryan Austin's "Realizing the Dream" is a traditional gospel album from a talented singer with a tremendous amount of faith. Bryan's journey is a passionate one. Austin approaches every song differently and puts everything he has into his performance. He has an impressive vocal range and belts it out with passion, raw emotion, and intimacy to the likes of Aaron Neville and Luther Vandross. Austin bares himself to his audience hoping the audience will, in turn, bear witness to the spiritual presence of the Lord. The arrangements are simple and could all be intimated inside a house of the Lord since Austin treats each track like a soulful gospel hymn. It's all about good old fashioned praise. The recording quality of "Realizing the Dream" nicely matches the rawness of Austin's vocal performance and doesn't rely on any effects to be effective. Highlights include "The Anchor Holds," which gives you a first taste of Austin's talent as a vocalist and really kicks off the journey. "Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus" features some nice harmony and layering in the vocals and plays on a familiar song of patriotism. "Were You There" wraps things up with a nice guitar progression and beautiful female backing vocals. If you enjoy good ol' fashioned, soulful gospel, give "Realizing the Dream" a listen.

"Soul Groove" by Kyle Wolverton (Jazz artist from Los Angeles, California (CA))

"Soul Groove" is the saxophone led contemporary smooth jazz solo debut from Kyle Wolverton. Primarily an instrumental album, Wolverton drives this record with his outstanding sax skills and creates a unique sound by combining the smooth jazz sound with the heavy influence of the R&B and gospel genres. "Soul Groove" is filled with saxophone led melodies that show Wolverton's mastery and control of all three genres. Vocal performances are rare, but when Wolverton does sing, it is in the R&B style and reminiscent of Keith Sweat and Luther Vandross and occasionally accompanied by a strong R&B female vocal. The album is well-produced and gives each song that polished quality smooth jazz albums typically require. The title track, "Soul Groove," fuses together R&B and smooth jazz and gives a flush song that brings about the likeliness of Marvin Gays and Kenny G. "On The Brink" departs from the saxophone sound and incorporates acoustic guitar, drums, and hand claps in its stead, resulting in a strong, gospel-inspired vocal performance from Wolverton. Overall, "Soul Groove" is an impressive solo debut from Wolverton that shows his vocal and musical talents, as well as his ability to creatively control the sound. Fans of R&B and saxophone-driven smooth jazz should check out this album.

"Dessine-Moi Une Ligne” or “Draw Me a Line” (Ambient Artist from Switzerland)

"Dessine-Moi Une Ligne," or "Draw Me a Line," is an ambient instrumental new age soundtrack composed by Craig McConnell. This soundtrack is from the movie of the same name. The movie is about Swiss snowboarder Géraldine Fasnacht and attempts to draw a line, so to speak, between the artistic vision of McConnell and the danger in traversing and descending the Swiss Alps. The album relies heavily upon ambience and synthesizers for its overarching sound, but that is not to say that it is not, as a whole, musically and instrumentally sound. McConnell incorporates the piano, drums, bells, guitar, a string section and a beautiful operatic female vocal throughout, showing his capabilities as a composer and as a musician. The songs are all centered around the concept and the movement of the film, but they are all composed with feeling and with heart and all belong to the mastermind McConnell. "Dessine-Moi Une Ligne" is well-produced and sounds great, ready for both the big screen and the stereo. "Fields of Air" is a soft instrumental with piano, drums, a bell and uses the female vocal as an instrument to carry us away. "Le Chant des Sirènes," "Rhythm of Life," and "Géraldine & Sébastien" all use a vocal performance as an instrument as well, where it is the noises they are making rather than the words they are forming that make the songs move. "The Fine Line – Part Two" opens with ambience, then introduces a string section, then progresses into a great rhythmic drum beat. "Dessine-Moi Une Ligne" is a fascinating soundtrack that paints an auditory portrait for the film it was made for. Fans of ambient new age and films about snowboarding, pick up this album.

"Alone with You" by Clinton Strowder (Pop Artist from California(CA))

"Alone with You" by Clinton Strowder is an impressive high energy pop album by a very talented singer. The well polished production quality makes the tracks crisply pump out of your speakers. The album opens with the catchy ballad "Biography" where Clinton sings to the heavens. "Dream to be" is a great pop tune reminiscent of 80s pop stars such as Lionel Richie. The track features a great funk guitar scratch technique, which would put even "Superfly" himself to shame. The standout track is the album's first single "First kiss" which is about that special first kiss between two passionate lovers. The track also features more funk elements with heavy slap bass to flow with the soulful melody. One of our favorite tracks is "Stay With Me" which features all the makings for a hit - group vocals, hand claps and a catchy beat to go along with the catchy chorus. Overall this is a great pop album which also features elements of soul, funk and even jazz. Be sure to check this one out, especially if you're a fan of soulful pop artists such as Lionel Richie, Boys to Men and even Michael Jackson.

"Can You Hear Me Now" by Deborah Malena (Spiritual Artist from California(CA))

"Can You Hear Me Now" is an excellent contemporary Christian album with a southern/gospel flair from Deborah Malena. Deborah's voice and lyrics draw you in immediately. She is quite a talented writer, and her inventive words flow right off her tongue. Her voice has a similar power and vulnerability to that of Karen Carpenter. The songs are all very well arranged, and the instrumentation compliments Deborah's style very well. Above all, "Can You Hear Me Now" displays fantastic songwriting on all ends, allowing the album to flow along with ease. The production is great and gives the album a timeless quality. "Master of the Waves" opens things up with a fantastic song structure, a warm vibe, and excellent performances all around. Other highlights include the title track, "Can You Hear Me Now," with a fantastic guitar progression, great changes, and a wonderful vocal performance filled with great harmonies and an impressive display of vocal range. "Jesus Loves Me Even Though" strips things down to acoustic guitar and vocals, giving the listener an intimate experience with Deborah. If you enjoy great singer/songwriters with a strong message and a world of talent, give Deborah a try.

"Now's The Time" by Chetenge (Reggae/World artist from Jamaica)

"Now's The Time" is the four-track CD single from female vocalist Chetengé that alternates between two genres that she clearly has her head around; smooth R&B and reggae. This single is broken down and remixed in four different ways – a smooth R&B vocal, an island reggae vocal, a hip-hop/R&B instrumental and a primarily instrumental reggae version with an occasional note or two from Chetengé. The song itself is catchy and clearly of single caliber, with the melodic chorus, "Now is the time to let my love be heard/I've been waiting in silence forever." Chetengé's vocals are versatile and sound natural when she matches both the R&B and reggae sounds. Chetengé produced this single herself and all four tracks are well-mixed and of excellent quality. "Now's the Time (Rub-a-Dub Mix)" uses a traditional reggae beat that gives a nice, relaxing island feel. "Now's the Time (Rnb Instrumental)" highlights Chetengé's production skills as she takes a break from the vocals and lays down a nice hip-hop beat with R&B elements. As a CD single, "Now's The Time" takes a catchy song and remixes it four times to show Chetengé's vocal and production talents. For fans of female vocalists, smooth R&B and reggae, "Now's The Time" to check out Chetengé.

"Native Slovak" by David Martinka (World/Instrumental artist from Michigan (MI))

"Native Slovak" is a flute-infused instrumental world music album from flutist extraordinaire David Martinka. With this album, Martinka digs deep into his flute repertoire and presents the listener with classic flute styles inspired by both Native Slovakian and Native American flute courting styles. Some of the sounds Martinka creates are familiar and clear, like those one would expect from an woodwind ensemble. Others are drastically different, tribal sounding, and similar in sound to the didgeridoo. The songs on "Native Slovak" are pure, powerful, and spiritual and match the emotional feeling that each song title suggests. The album is also very well recorded, so the listener doesn't miss a single note. "Rodný Slovák (Native Slovak)" opens the album with an intense Native American sound that gives the listener a feel for the entire album, created by Martinka's use of the Fujara to give much of the song that didgeridoo-esque sound. "Do videnia dievča (I will See Her Soon)" is a mellow, calming, and emotional track with a more orchestral flute sound that tells the story the song title suggests. Overall, "Native Slovak" is an impressive album that shows Martinka's talent as a flutist on a variety of different flutes. If you enjoy world-class flute playing that tells a good story, check out "Native Slovak."

"The Exodus is Here" by Alien Alright (Rock artist from London, England)

"The Exodus is Here" is a fast-paced, guitar-driven hard rock album from Alien Alright. Alien Alright is true to the hard rock sound of the '60s and '70s, and his guitar progressions and solos have a certain timelessness to them. His lyrics follow the same format, and when they are not timeless, they are critical of the state of the music world today. "The Exodus is Here" was recorded as a seven-track album because Alien Alright wants music to return to its roots. Alien believes that for an album to be appreciated and loved and for a song to be all it can be, it cannot not be overproduced with the intent for radio play. His vocals also draw from the '60s and '70s through the likes of Robert Plant and Neil Young and create an original raw sound. The album is well-recorded and allows for those guitar solos to burst through the speakers clearly and cleanly. "Make Some Noise" contains a Jim James-style falsetto then moves into some great wailing vocals that creates an overall Zeppelin-esque sound. "Record Store Blues" has an inviting guitar progression as he sings about the overabundance of musicians today and longs for the purer days of musical yore. "The Exodus is Here" is a bold album that makes bold statements about the music industry past and present. Fans of early hard rock, give this album a try.

"Viva Mayday" by Viva Mayday (Rap/Hip-Hop artist from New York City, New York (NY))

"Viva Mayday" is the politically charged self-titled debut from reggae rock outfit Viva Mayday. A typical rock three piece – guitar, bass and drums – Viva Mayday rely heavily upon the upstroke to create their classic reggae sound. They also incorporate punk and classic rock elements into their music, showing their musical talent and diversity. The lead singer's vocals are uniformly in the style of traditional reggae and fused with a variety of musical styles, Viva Mayday show likeliness to Bob Marley, Dispatch, The Clash and Sublime at different points on the album. All the while, their lyrics are reminiscent of Rage Against the Machine. Viva Mayday's songs are jam-packed with socially aware, politically charged lyrics that exploit the bands disgruntledness, for the most part, with American foreign policy. "Viva Mayday" is also well-produced, sure to keep both the music and lyrics polished and audible. "Fidel" opens with an incredible Hendrix-style guitar solo as they sing about "the war machine" and "propane democracy." "Missionaries" reflects the "give peace a chance" mentality of the entire album with a Marley-esque vocal, suggesting that even the people that mean perfectly well are struggling to survive abroad. "1963 Motorcade" is a song about the assassination of JFK and conspiracy theories against the government. "Viva Mayday" is certainly opinionated and controversial. If you enjoy what Rage Against the Machine offers lyrically and punk-infused reggae rock, you should give this album a listen.

"Villiantine's Day" is an East Coast experimental hip-hop album from Chaos Da Verbal Villain that features innovative production and rhymes that push the envelope. Chaos brings extreme intensity and a powerful delivery to the table. His lyrics are controversial and well-constructed, and his creative choices present a new innovation with each new song. The arrangements support the constant battle with sanity that the album presents with odd beats, zany synths and a nice thick coat of darkness that perfectly compliment the album's concept. "Villaintine's Day" is professionally produced and sounds fantastic. Highlights include "Verbal Vybin," with strong lyrics, a nice hook, and an interesting beat. "Mental Madness" features an incredible beat, cool claps, and a hauntingly zany vibe. "For The Love featuring Ajent Smif" has a cool cat jazz vibe, a slick bass line, and a strong guest vocal. "Son of Malcolm" by C-Born Nacirfa (Rap artist from Texas (TX))

"Son of Malcolm" is a spiritual hip-hop album with reggae undertones from C-Born Nacirfa. This album is driven by the concept and the lyrical content. C-Born speaks a strong word and commands your attention through his poetic lyrics and precise delivery simultaneously reminiscent of Wyclef Jean and Common. The sound is comprised of the relationship between rough sounds and delicate sounds, which befits an album preaching change through action. As a whole, the sound maintains a certain rawness, and the arrangements are full, interesting, and well-balanced. "Son of Malcolm" is well-produced and the recordings are all radio ready. "Howdy Folks! I'm Fuster Buskins" by Fuster Buskins (Country/Americana/Bluegrass artist from Georgia (GA))

"Howdy Folks! I'm Fuster Buskins" is a hilarious mountain music album from Fuster Buskins. Fuster is surely an entertainer, alternating his live performances between banjo-led hillbilly country songs and elaborate stories about his kinfolk and the seemingly few non-family members he has run across in the back country. His songs and stories are all very campy and over the top, but Fuster is a great character who keeps his bits fresh and hilarious, drawing from the classic country comedy style of the Grand Ole Opry. "Howdy Folks!" is comprised of live recordings and full of audience laughter and interaction, but it is of such quality that the listener doesn't miss a single joke. "Kiss 'N' Kussins" is a song about Fuster falling in love with his hillbilly first cousin and includes the hysterical chorus "Kiss 'n' kussins/That's all we'll ever be/Kiss 'n' kussins/My own kin rejects me." "The Song That Solves All the Problems of the World" gives Fuster's unique utopian vision of the world, as well as his fix-all: "We got to eat more possum." "Howdy Folks! I'm Fuster Buskins" is a hilarious album, an instant comedy classic that stays true to its comedy roots while simultaneously offering something fresh, unique, and entertaining. Fans of the Grand Ole Opry and campy hillbilly comedy should definitely give Fuster a try.

"LIVE!" by Bryan G. Rowe (Classical artist from Maryland (MD))

"LIVE!" is a classical album comprised of eight live performances from organ virtuoso Bryan G. Rowe. Rowe draws from his classical predecessors – Bach, Pachelbel, Duruflé, Franck, and Karg-Elert – as well as original compositions for this album, drawing from a number of Rowe's solo organ recitals from around the U.S. and England. The songs are true to the classical form, pay homage to Rowe's influences, and achieve a timeless quality. Each song is well-performed, evoking the driving, haunting sound of the organ and turning it into something beautiful. "LIVE!" is, of course, a collection of live recordings - Bach in one take - and it sounds great as it creates the feeling that you're inside a cathedral staring up at beautifully crafted stained glass windows. "Prelude in E-Flat Major, BWV 552" and "Jesu, Meine Freude, from Three Symphonic Chorales, Opus 87/2" are both Bach-originated organ pieces that Rowe brings beautifully back to life. "Ciacona in f" is a Pachelbel original and a great arrangement where you hang on to each individual note. With "LIVE!," Bryan G. Rowe shows his prowess as a classical organist and beautifully pays homage to his predecessors. Classical music aficionados and other organ enthusiasts, pick up this album.

Ruben is a master of experimentation, an explorer of styles, and brings you the result of his exploration with this album. "Love Hustle Hate" is a Southern hip-hop album from The Pearl, a talented female emcee who brings a timeless passion to the table. The lyrics on this album are poetic, and the vocal performances possess an undeniable angst and energy similar to Da Brat and Lauryn Hill. The subject matters vary, but true-to-life content about The Pearl's life struggle interweaves itself throughout the album. The Pearl's sound is truly unique, with the addition of raw punk elements to foundation of street beats and techno, a pretty powerful combination to say the least. Highlights include "Get Ready (featuring Musclehead)," which has a dark, punkish bass line, powerful vocal performances, and tricky beats that give the listener their first taste of The Pearl's rawness. “Above the Storm” by Daniel Gauthier (Rock artist from Quebec)

Canadian rocker Daniel Gauthier's "Above the Storm" is an elegant symphonic progressive rock album that displays Gauthier's solid musicianship throughout. A multi-instrumentalist, Gauthier is to be held accountable for all of the bass, keyboard, acoustic guitar, and vocals you hear on the album, all of which are more than worthy of praise. His vocals have a certain charm to them, as he is a French Canadian singing in English. Combined with the music, they effectively give the album a sound similar to Pink Floyd and Yes. "Above the Storm" was also excellently recorded, so you can enjoy this album to its full potential. While the symphonic prog rock sound is the key to the album, Gauthier's lyricism is also quite impressive. For instance, with "Evening of a New Romance," he opens with the haunting and beautiful, "Cast an eye on the man who suddenly could become yourself/His mind explodes like a rainbow in the sky." The title track begins with a storm that turns ambient and rises, well, "Above the Storm" around the one minute mark. "Cross the Bridge" begins with a great bass line and progresses from there. Overall, "Above the Storm" is an enjoyable album to be recommended to anyone who enjoys the musical intricacy that comes with progressive rock.

"The Wish" by Daniel Gauthier (Rock artist from Quebec)

"The Wish" is a limited edition CD/DVD single from progressive rock artist Daniel Gauthier. Daniel draws his style from many of the British progressive bands from the '70s, such as Pink Floyd and Yes, and the product delivers. This single is a live performance of the song, but it sounds fantastic and creates in the listener the sensation and urge to see Gauthier live. "The Wish" is very dynamic with intricate layers and superior musicianship. All of the instruments are well-represented, and there is very little crossover in the sound as a whole. The arrangement is a progressive rock lover's dream: atmospheric synths, a funky, crunchy, active bass line, precise, technical drumming, and wailing guitar solos. It is definitely a ride from start to finish. If you enjoy highly dynamic instrumental progressive rock, give Daniel Gauthier a listen.

“Supercharged” by Charge7 (Electronica artist from Los Angeles, California (CA))

"Supercharged," is an electro-pop album with elements of rock, dance, club, and hip hop by Charge7. The album is full of insane electro beats, and is recorded crisply, eager to boom from the speakers of any dance club in the world. The vocals are also quite impressive and diverse; some are styled similarly to modern mainstream pop rock bands while others take from the classic rock sound and still others from the hip-hop world. The lyrics are risque and work hand in hand with the bending of genres. "Like a Shadow in the Dark (M7 Platinum Edit)" opens the album with a catchy yet meaningful and heartbreaking chorus line, "You're the one that I adore, but you don't want me anymore." "It's Gonna Be Alright (M7 Unplugged Edit)" is a temporary departure from the electro realm into a piano-centered ballad that demonstrates Charge7's lyrical and instrumental talents. "Supercharged" is indeed supercharged, full of cutting edge songs with a variety of influences. If you enjoy innovative electro-pop that fuses genres, plan a house party and check this one out.

"Feed the Need" is an enjoyable self-titled rock album with surf rock and jazz elements from Feed the Need. Though all four band members are still in high school, Feed the Need has crafted an album that displays their strong musical capabilities on guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards. The vocals are youthful and the lyrics are full of angst, as many of the songs are undoubtedly about the girls they obsess over at their schools. Nevertheless, you'll find yourself bobbing your head to the beat and singing along with the catchy choruses, agreeing that "Weirdness makes the world go 'round." The title track "Feed the Need" is well recorded and allows these youngsters to be heard to their full potential. "Light Up My World" has great keyboard and guitar progressions at the introduction and a catchy chorus to boot. The highlight of the album is "Without Words," which is an instrumental jam session with great bass and keyboard lines and an impressive guitar solo showcasing the band's musical finesse. Anyone who enjoys quirky, youthful surf rock should check out this fine album.

"Vegas Suite" by Frank Fabio (Jazz artist from Nevada)

"Vegas Suite" is a funky smooth jazz album that features fantastic guitar and bass work from multiinstrumentalist Frank Fabio. The album as a whole is very upbeat and refreshing with catchy, well layered, and diverse arrangements. Fabio is a pro at feeling out the different energies in his work, and he definitely puts his veteran skills on display with this album. The cornerstone of any instrumental album is the ability to tell a story without the addition of lyrics, and Fabio very much succeeds at that with "Vegas Suite." Fabio is also a great musician, both on bass and guitar, and has a full understanding of music. Highlights include "Love Is," a perfect example of instrumental storytelling that almost paints a picture of love in your mind. "Yes and No" is a wonderfully erratic number that showcases Frank's ability as a bassist and features some excellent piano and drum work as well. "Battleboy" is a loungy number with a house beat and relaxing atmospheric elements. "Vegas Suite" is an impressive album from Frank Fabio that showcases his talents both as a multiinstrumentalist and as a musical storyteller. If you enjoy listening to stylistic, musically diverse jazz artists, give this album a listen.

"Good Company" by SyndiLee (Pop/Folk artist from Washington (WA))

"Good Company" is the acoustic folk rock debut from talented female singer/songwriter SyndiLee. SyndiLee is a passionate vocalist that puts everything into each and every word she sings. Her vocals are very good too, with a good mix of strength and beauty reminiscent of female singer/songwriter predecessors Melissa Etheridge and KT Tunstall. Her lyrics are poetic, intelligent, and socially conscious, and her great deliveries make it easy to sing along. The arrangements behind her vary both in style and in instrumentation but remain true to the pure, acoustic folk sound. "Good Company" has a great production quality that both accentuates the vocals and represents the accompaniment well. Highlights include the title track, "Good Company," with beautiful guitar progressions and an intimate, soulful vocal performance. "New Moon" brings a Celtic flair with the addition of flute and accordion adding a nice dimension to the sound. "Ghost" wraps things up nicely with touching lyrics and another fine vocal performance. Overall, "Good Company" is an impressive debut from SyndiLee that will please both sides of the brain. If you enjoy intelligent female singer/songwriters and acoustic folk rock, pick up this album.

“The Blessing” by Larry Randall (Spiritual/Jazz artist from Texas)

"The Blessing" is a four CD, eighty-six song spiritually inspiring, contemporary jazz gospel box set from Larry Randall. Randall believes that he was called upon to minister the word of God with music, to express the Holy Ghost within him through song in hopes of inspiring the Holy Ghost in his listener. Not surprisingly, all eighty-six songs are filled with religious imagery and spiritual, joyous, Biblical, and even prophetic lyrics. Vocally, Randall is a crooner, and at times sounds similar to Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé. The arrangements are typically simple and soft, so as not to overshadow Randall's message, but they are great collaborative efforts that hail from a variety of genres, including smooth jazz, big band, gospel, soul, Latin, Hindi, rock & roll, and R&B. The recording quality of "The Blessing" is quite good, and the arrangements and vocals both sound polished and professional. "We Are Home" is a slow smooth jazz number with smooth saxophone solos and lyrics of faith and unity. "Speak of His Joy" is a big band tune you could swear was actually being sung by Sinatra, and has more religious imagery about salvation and grace. "His Name is Jesus" has a great jazz arrangement as Randall pilfers through all of the names for Jesus. "Stand" is a fast-paced song with a Hindi-music-inspired arrangement and a group chant vocal. "Faithful and True" is a gospel song with a great organ-led arrangement and is a conversation between Randall and Jesus. "The Blessing" is a bold box set with great arrangements and ministering lyrics, and is it mere coincidence that it is a Bible-sized effort? Fans of contemporary jazz gospel looking to worship God through song, pick up Larry Randall's box set.

"Pound-4-Pound" by BiGGs (Rap/Hip-Hop artist from Florida)

"Pound-4-Pound" is a three-track southern gangsta single featuring the original, instrumental, and a capella versions of BiGGs' "Look Good." BiGGs' has the vocal ability to intimidate as well as to bring the ladies to their knees. He has a great singing voice as well as a great flow reminiscent of the Notorious B.I.G. and Lil Wayne. The backing music sequence supports this intimidation/coercion dichotomy, as you get a thick, bumping beat with subtle and varied accents and quirky yet atmospheric synths. The second track, the instrumental version of "Look Good," gives you a whole different perspective on the track and allows you to focus on the dramatic hints. The a capella version stands on its own as well; you definitely feel the rhythm without hearing it, and it paints a complete picture of BiGGs' talents as an emcee. This single is recorded excellently, so the track sounds great as a whole and broken down. "Pound-4-Pound" certainly leaves you wanting to hear more of what BiGGs has to offer the music world in both arrangement and vocals. If you enjoy the Miami style of hip-hop, you'll enjoy this CD.

This album shows The Sea Turtles superb improvisational skills, as well as their influences, which range from the Beach Boys on guitar to the classical jazz sound on drums and bass doubtlessly influenced by a plethora of jazz predecessors. "From Hands To Hearts" by Robert Crawford (Jazz Artist from Ohio(OH))

"From Hands To Hearts" by Robert Crawford is an instrumental contemporary jazz album with a light and upbeat flair that brings forth a feel-good vibe right off the bat. Crawford's arrangements are well thought out and each song is complete. The choruses are very catchy and the roads between them are captivating and well-performed. You get a nice array of instruments to hear – guitar, flute, piano, saxophone, and funk bass – and no single instrument really establishes itself as the prominent force in the sound. Due to this musical diversity, each song is different yet consistent, and everything is very well layered throughout. “Chasing Shadows” by Jeff Woodall (Electronic Artist from United Kingdom)

"Chasing Shadows" is a somewhat aptly titled ambient/electronic chillout album from UK artist Jeff Woodall, his ninth release since 2002. These fifteen compositions help set a calm, relaxed, introspective, and even meditative mood. Woodall's experimental musical styling incorporates the piano, organ, electronic drums, and even the xylophone into his songs, but he relies heavily on the ambient sounds from his instrumental repertoire to create his music. "Chasing Shadows" is mostly an instrumental album with the occasional sound byte, and it is recorded crisply and near-flawlessly. The opening track, "Shapeless," introduces the album well as it begins with a repetitive guitar lick, then incorporates the organ, then completes the progression with an electronic drum beat dubbed over the other two. "My Isolation" follows with a heavier dependence on the ambient sound and reminds the listener of the beautiful Icelandic compositions of Sigur Ros. Woodalls's influences can also be found in "Erosion" and "Lunar Corona," both of which sound like they are straight out of Radiohead's "Kid A" or "Hail to the Thief." Overall, "Chasing Shadows" is a pretty great album to be recommended to anyone looking for some new chillout electronica.

"Magic Corner" is a creative Latin jazz fusion album that features the unique and stylish work of talented saxophonist Rudy Albano. Albano's work is refined, polished, and fits very nicely with Latin rhythms and progressions. The sound of this album is original and non-traditional, pushing the envelope in both performance and creative choices. Each song almost has an individual personality attached to it that will stimulate your ears and intellect. The production value is very good as well, so you can hear each instrument clearly with no instrumental overlap as Albano takes you through this journey of heavily layered arrangements. Highlights include "Crazy Blues," a very quirky and atonal track with bizarre rhythms and a very unconventional arrangement. The title track, "Magic Corner," gets you moving right away with its lively rhythm and later incorporates a great sax solo and a killer bass line. "It's Like Fun" is probably the catchiest track with its Latin rhythms and upbeat nature that will instantly bring a smile to your face. "Magic Corner" is an impressive album that displays Albano's ability both as a composer and as a saxophonist. If you enjoy experimental jazz heavy on the Latin elements, pick up this album.

The power of this band is evident from the get go with a full sound, noteworthy lyrics, and an inspirational passion. The songs all have a great arena quality that makes you want to see the band live. The vocal performance is reminiscent of the southern alternative rock sound of the late '90s from the likes of 3 Doors Down and Creed. Musically, Seventeenth Parallel performs at a high skill level and the entire band is tight, so the arrangements are all solid, catchy, and immediately reel you in. "Here I Am To Worship" is a powerful ballad of worship that features a piano-sounding guitar intro. "Shelter" opens with a thick bass line, with the track evolving into an intense rockin' journey. “All My Days” by Corinne Gooden (Folk Artist from Tennessee(TN))

"All My Days" is the impressive debut from folk singer/songwriter Corinne Gooden. Throughout the album, Gooden shows magnificent control of her voice and has an emotional inflection that heightens the personal sentiments in her writing. Her vocal performance is similar to contemporary female singer/songwriters like Paula Cole, Sarah McLachlan, and Bonnie Raitt. Gooden's lyrics are very personal and honest, and she sings them with such conviction and melody that the listener becomes hooked and must know what she'll sing about next. The musical arrangements are also quite good, highlighted by fantastic piano/organ progressions and beautiful acoustic guitar that skillfully back Gooden's vocal performance. The recording quality of "All My Days" is excellent, so the vocals and arrangements are clean and crisp, leaving nothing to be desired. The title track, "All My Days," is a slow, sad, and personal song with a piano and guitar accompaniment in which Gooden shows her tremendous vocal range. "Goodbye" is a more uptempo rock number about learning how to say goodbye to someone you don't necessarily want to ever say goodbye to. Overall, "All My Days" is a superb debut from a talented singer/songwriter that knows how to write her feelings down and vocalize them. Fans of good folk lyricists and female vocalists should check out this excellent CD.

“S” by Unbreakable Foundation (Electronic Artist from Australia)

"S" is the impressive instrumental electronic debut album from Unbreakable Foundation. Each track on "S" is connected by two things: firstly, the title of each track begins with the letter S, and secondly, each track makes you feel as though you are drifting far, far away to a place much superior to the place you were prior to putting the album on. Anthony Milas, the architect of Unbreakable Foundation, has created an excellent mood-setting album geared towards relaxation, introspection, and feeling calm and meditative, with enough organic elements to make you feel as though you are sitting atop a mountain. His musical approach gives a worldly feel similar to Gotan Project, but also incorporates ambience and driving beats reminiscent of Radiohead and Boards of Canada. Though "S" was recorded in Milas' New Zealand home studio, the sound is crisp and fulfilling. "South For The Winter" makes the listener feel as if they are a migrant bird, alternating between a fast-paced, driving beat and a slowed-down, drifting sound, flying and resting. "Somethin' Brewin'" incorporates a number of worldly instruments and has an overall Hindi flare to it. Overall, "S" is a solid debut from Unbreakable Foundation. Anyone who enjoys relaxing electronic music should definitely check "S" out.

"Life Worth Living" by Ross Royce (Rock Artist from New Zealand)

Ross Royce puts it perfectly in his short, spoken word opening to "Mrs. Vain," the second track off his album "Life Worth Living" - "this is rock & roll." Royce, who creates most of the sounds that you hear on the album, spans the genre instrumentally and vocally. He seems to transform musically from track to track, ranging from the masterfully crafted piano rock sound of Ben Folds to an acoustic Bowie to a bluesy number reminiscent of Stevie Ray Vaughn, and finally to Floyd-esque space rock. The recording is clean, and allows each track to live up to its full potential. Ross's vocals work well in these rock and roll tracks. The highlight of the album, in our view, is the three track block of "Suzanne," "Hello People Pt. 2," and "Suzanne's Meditation." The tracks flow, each a response to the next, and give a crisp space/arena/art rock feel, thereby showcasing Ross's excellent songwriting and instrumental talent. For people who enjoy listening to albums from beginning to end and vocal stylings that remind you at once of the eighties and indie artists like Art Brut and Bloc Party, check out what this creative CD.

“Heart Worn Sleeve” by B.B. Wolfe (Blues Artist from Michigan(MI))

"Heart Worn Sleeve" is an aptly titled, impressive blues/folk album from B.B. Wolfe. THe CD also showcases the Goldmine Pickers, who bring a slight country flavor to the album as well. The album is stripped down, relying solely on purely acoustic instruments – guitar, banjo, violin, and accordion – to back his sad, storytelling lyrics. Wolfe's lyrics portray a sense of longing, of lost love, of sorrow and sadness, and are the most defining quality of the album. His raspy vocals combined with his folk sound, reliance on acoustic instruments, and longing lyrics, should remind the listener of the classic Dylan album, "Another Side of Bob Dylan." The recording quality is very good as well. Wolfe longs for what could have been on the track "Something Tells Me It's Not True" when he sings, "I've been holding onto this old guitar/I should have been holding you." "In Three-Quarter Time" incorporates the accordion into Wolfe's musical styling, and the song title itself should imply that he knows what he's doing musically. "Heart Worn Sleeve" is an excellent album that displays B.B. Wolfe's powerful storytelling capabilities and should be looked into by anyone who enjoys a good blues/folk/country fusion.

"Stay Groovy" by Totemzombies (Classic Rock Artist from Mexico)

"Stay Groovy" is an impressive instrumental rock EP put together by Mexico City four piece Totemzombies. As the album title suggests, the influence of '60s psychedelia and the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Frank Zappa is well apparent, as these guys turn out one rhythm heavy jam after another. The entire band is tight, and they understand the relationship of their instruments. "Stay Groovy" is a very raw sounding album, as the band recorded it live in studio. You'll enjoy the fact that the band lets you hear their music as it is. It's essentially how it would sound if you saw Totemzombies live, since each track appears to be done in one take and at times seems to be improvisational. "Watermelon" kicks things off with a grooving bass line, banging drums, and wailing guitar solos. "Cameleon" slows things down a bit and features more incredible guitar work. "Butterfly" closes things out with a quirky guitar riff and some nice work on the drums. With "Stay Groovy," Totemzombies are trying to keep the psychedelic movement alive through stunning guitar riffs and all-out jams. If you like '60s psychedelia and a tight instrumental rock sound, "Stay Groovy" with the Totemzombies.

"Travelin' Show" is an excellent adult rock fusion album from talented singer/songwriter Bowen. Bowen's lyrics travel straight from the heart to the page, and he expresses them with a great vocal performance similar to Chris Martin of Coldplay and Gavin DeGraw. He combines these talents with a cutting edge sound and great production to bring you an album that is here to stay. Above all, "Travelin' Show" is an album of great songs, each and every track so catchy that you will find yourself simultaneously singing along and reveling in Bowen's creativity. The songs are filled with great melodies and a nice layering of sounds both in the vocals and in the arrangements. If that isn't enough, the quality of the recordings is excellent with every facet of the sound represented throughout. Highlights include "Back On You," with a great vocal performance, intense lyrics, and a fantastic relationship of sounds in the arrangement. The title track, "Travelin' Show," features a tight beat and is as powerful as it is melodic. "Jaded" soothes your ears with guitar delays and gets your heart pumping with an energetic vocal performance. With "Travelin' Show," Bowen has created a memorable record filled with strong male vocals, heartfelt lyrics, and cutting edge production. "Taking Chances" by Gunner Jump (Rock/Pop artist from California (CA))

Gunner Jump's "Taking Chances" is a Christian country rock EP brought to you by the powerful duo of Jon Jump and J.G. "Gunner" Franklin. Gunner's vocals are energetic, and he delivers the inspiring and well thought out lyrics nicely with a great rock feel. The arrangements showcase Gunner Jump's great variance in what is largely an arena sound. There are some creative changes as well as instruments introduced that are clearly inspired by genres outside of Christian country rock. The production quality is good, so turn up the volume on this one. “EarthTones II” by Pamela Weng and Friends (Easy Listening artist from Colorado (CO))

"EarthTones II" is an inspiring easy listening album from a talented group of musicians in Pamela Weng and Friends. Weng and her thirteen friends hail from eight distinct cultures, each member bringing a unique interpretation of music to the project. Collectively, they are a musically sound group with a gratuitous amount of musical chemistry, and they take the listener all around the world with the sounds they create. Musically, Weng and friends are in touch with nature and quite literally create the tones of the earth in the most eclectic of ways. Weng's vocal appears on a couple of tracks, "They Slice The Air – poem," which has a sort of speakeasy feel, and "Garden of Stars," which is a beautiful and inspiring strong vocal performance. "EarthTones II" is well-produced and does justice to the hard work and enormous amount of creativity that went into the album. "Crescent Moon" introduces the album with a slow alternation between the piano and Native American flute backed by slow waves created by successive taps on a cymbal. "Orion the Hunter" is a great jazz number introduced with a piano solo then turns into an all-out jam with shakers, drums, flute, and guitar. "Outback Ochre" and "Outback" both incorporate the didgeridoo to make the listener one with Australian nature. "EarthTones II" is a great easy listening album with a fascinating blend of cultures and musicians from all around the world. Fans of inspiring easy listening and great musical collaboration, this one is a must.
