"Life on a Hawaiian Beach" by MK Ultra (acoustic rock band from England)

On "Life on a Hawaiian Beach", MK Ultra and John Evans really show that they can create songs for chilling out. The acoustic guitars and cool lyrics put you in a mood to just hang out, go on a long drive, or sit on the beach with your headphones. The guitar work and songwriting on the CD are especially impressive. On the track "Gypsy Road", an awesome sounding electric guitar resembles the cries of a whale. We love the acoustic guitar licks on "Magictown." If you enjoy Steven Stills you will love MK Ultra. Make sure to get your copy today.

"Falling from Grace" by A Cool Devotion (new wave/modern rock band from Italy)

On "Falling from Grace," A Cool Devotion uses exhilarating sounds to create a unique new wave/rock sound. The band uses power rock guitars, electronic drums, and interesting sounding keyboards to create their sound. A Cool Devotion presents vocals that are gritty and remind us at times of the Cure. Scarlet (Remember Me) has a beautiful keyboard intro that breaks into an upbeat new wave song with a catchy keyboard countermelody. On the track "You are my Treason", the vocals cut through the song adding a nice rough edge to the track. If you like Iggy Pop or Talking Heads then you will enjoy this CD. Get your copy today!

"Lifetimes" by Ricci Carr (adult contemporary artist from Australia)

A beautiful guitar intro opens the impressive adult pop CD "Lifetimes" by Australian artist Ricci Carr. The wonderful production of the CD effectively allows Ricci's vocals to cut through the beautiful and impressive accompaniment. Ricci has such control of her vocals, with terrific intonation and enunciation. She excels vocally - A fantastic performance! The soloists on this project compliment the songs so well, it was difficult to select a favorite piece. "You" brings a freshness in an adult pop song, bursting with energy and emotion. Beautiful saxophone accompanies the well-written song "Where Do We Go From Here". "Thinking Of You" is our favorite pick of this tremendous CD, for the tempo is perfect for dancing; the mood-setting song of the entire collection. Ricci Carr is splendid, and if you are shopping for easy listening/adult pop material you are sure to love this CD!

"Insert at Rib" by Joshua Lanes (alternative rock artist from Long Beach, California (CA))

"Insert at Rib" by Joshua Lanes is a highly enjoyable collection of modern rock songs. The album opens with the very energetic and upbeat "Saxony & The Blackhole of Love," filled with skillfully arranged over-driven electric guitars. This collection maintains this high energy from beginning to end, with a nice slow down now and then with songs like "The Devil's Monument" and "In the Genes." Lyrically, "Insert at Rib" is very introspective and thought-provoking. The vocals on this record stand out above all the instrumentation, displaying a passion-filled and emotion-conjuring voice. Moreover, the production further complements the vocals, adding the ability to pull the listener into the trance of every song. "Insert at Rib" by Joshua Lanes is a collection of loveable rock songs that all rockers are sure to adopt as musical anthems!

"Any Day Now" by Jose Maria and the Clinch Fado Boys (Fado band from Virginia (VA))

"Any Day Now" is an enjoyable trip through the world of Portuguese "fado" music, presented by Jose Maria and the Clinch Fado Boys. From the opening acoustic strains of "Maria Faia," there is a distinctly live, energetic feel to the whole disc. Maria sings in Portuguese for most of the album. One of our favorite tracks, "She Never Cries," is an uptempo number punctuated by bluesy electric guitar licks and accordian swells. The album closer, "Isto e o Fim," really captures the album's live-band feel, complete with studio chatter, and you feel as if you are truly there with the musicians, tapping your foot along. All in all, "Any Day Now" is a fun, engaging project, anyone looking for a great introduction to fado music, the "Portuguese blues," should buy a copy of this CD!-Paul D. for RadioIndy

"Not ALone" by Judas Feet (folk artist from Texas)

"Not Alone" is definitely an uplifting collection of new music from Judas Feet. Like an overflowing of fantastic poetry, the sounds of Judas Feet overflow the senses. Instrumentally this trio deserves an A+, for they are talented way beyond their years. Vocally the CD features a nice blend of sibling harmonies and terrific female and male lead vocals. "Song of Relief" comes across with excellent acoustic guitar and superb vocal presentation featuring a memorable chorus with beautiful 2-part harmonies. Terrific soulful harmonica intro sets the tone for "This Is For You", as the story unfolds to a heart-wrenching ballad of desperation as melancholy love is explored. "You're My Lord" by Sing Songs America (Christian/Spiritual artist from Browning, Texas (TX))

html version of review
"You're My Lord" by Sing Songs America is an uplifting collection of Christian music by talented songwriter Duke Nguyen Browning. Browning, of Texas, creates strong lyrics about universal topics such as faith, the Church, and love and marriage to encourage his listeners. The arrangements are simple but effective at showcasing both the beautiful vocals and the songs themselves. Browning has chosen different vocal artists to perform each song which adds freshness and variety. There is truly something for everyone in this collection, including some children's songs! Standout tracks include "You're My Lord" with its catchy well-crafted melody line, and "Love Never Fails" which features Browning himself as vocalist. If you are looking for music to encourage your whole family to grow in faith, this CD is a must-have for your collection!
